Unless items are cleared on the day of the Auction they will be transferred to our warehouse. Items must be paid for in our Office at the front of the Dorking Halls before they can be collected.

Delivery

The Auctioneer will, if required, arrange delivery of Lots purchased with local carriers but can in no way be responsible for the time of delivery, damage or loss.

Faulty Goods

Where the letters a/f appear in our catalogue it means that the item is faulty but it does not imply that items not so marked are without faults, and all lots should be examined prior to sale.

Damage to Lots

Any person causing damage to any lot will be held responsible for such damage and the Auctioneer will be the sole judge in assessing the cost of such damage.

Fire Precautions

Will the public attending the sale please leave gangways and the exit doors clear in case of emergency.

VAT Information for Buyers

The Auctioneer's Margin Scheme

The Auctioneer's Margin Scheme allows P F Windibank to sell items without VAT on the hammer price. However, as a consequence, the amount added by P F Windibank to the buyer's premium for VAT is not recoverable by any business buyer. Purchasing under the margin scheme is most beneficial to private EU buyers and EU dealers wishing to sell their purchases under the dealers margin scheme.

VAT on buyer's premium for items sold under the margin scheme

Under a margin scheme an amount equivalent to VAT at 15% is added to the buyer's premium. This amount cannot be refunded by P F Windibank or recovered by a buyer in their EU VAT return. The VAT element will not be shown separately on the buyer's invoice.

VAT on Daggered Items

A Plus sign ie:- (+) beside the lot number in the catalogue indicates that VAT at 15% is payable by the buyer on the hammer price and buyer's premium.
